The Wedding
BEFORE: Initial Theme
The kind of wedding I had in mind was traditional, regal, and elegant. I envisioned vintage silver pieces, Versaille-inspired decor, fashions popularized by Marie Antoinette, crystal candelabras, fleur de lis, trailing ivy, old world calligraphy, lace, provencal lavender. I wanted Versailles French style. Now say that again with a beer budget! To me, French Romanticism is romance at its best. I even eventually got a minor in French. FI also took me to Paris and proposed inside the Cathedral of Notre Dame in August 2009. While praying together at the Cathedral of Notre Dame, we decided then and there to begin the next step towards marriage.

AFTER: Final Theme
Almost an entire year after our engagement, I realized how difficult it was to pull this look off. I didn't have a monarchy to finance the gold, chandelbras, chandeliers, and crystals.
To my chagrin, I scraped all the ideas and started again but held onto the "Frenchness" but with a progressive spin. So fast forward to Pre-World I's la belle epoque (1900-1914) and old Hollywood glamour (1910-1960). We incorporated a Tiffany & Co. color scheme for cohesiveness.
